In Annie’s land
The world looks so bright,
cause it glows in a magical light.
As the day dawns
on green velvet lawns,
clouds of pink cotton candy,
billow forth and taste just dandy!
As the Sun in the heavens,
sits on high,
it prances about in a buttercup sky.
While peppermint trees sway in the breeze,
sparkling sugars dance from their leaves.
Cherry bright berries look so merry,
while on marsh-mellow mushrooms,
dancing with fairies.
And caramel ants dance in a trance,
To the bluebell’s jingle do the prance.
In Annie’s land there is nothing to fear,
cause nobody ever sheds a tear.
Where every little creature joins the band,
To sing to Annie, cause she’s so grand.
All the little children love her so much,
Cause she gives to them all her magical touch.
In Annie’s land the world looks so bright,
Cause everybody knows it glows with God’s light.

Annie’s land sounds very appealing to me!

Thank you, Liz. I was quite the naïve adult when I wrote that. In many ways, I still am, wishing for a different, kinder, more empathic and compassionate America as it used to be, even though it still had much to learn, before everyone was truly valued as a part of humanity.

You’re welcome, Karen. America definitely seems to have regressed. It’s hard to know what to think anymore.

An oldie but a goodie, eh?
You don’t mind if I hear Gene Wilder singing this to me, do you?

hahahaha…I love it! Thank you so much! I am a child at heart. I love these kinds of poems, because the are sweet and happy for everyone…even if people laugh. We need more laughter!

Anonymole, please do…I loved Gene Wilder. I don’t think that Gene Wilder would sing this little poem. I would like it though, to return to a more naïve and innocent way of being.
