Colleen, thank you. I am trying to reach as many people as I can on WordPress to speak out; to write about our democratic republic, and the rule of law. what is so sad is that Americans are so used to democracy they have no idea what it is like to live in Tyranny.

That is a fact. It’s a difficult subject and many don’t want to engage. I stand with you, my sister! ❤

Pete, thank you and I agree, the power of words, especially Eugene V Debs and so many brilliant thinkers then and now, still need to break the spell that has captured many of the uneducated and if not uneducated, then racist.

“Morons and natural tyrants,” indeed–or, as I like to say, “Charlatans and fools in positions of authority.”

Liz, this is so true and we happen to have a full house of them, as in White House. Fortunately, we will have an election in 2020 and I pray common sense will prevail.

Such a powerful post, Karen. I feel like the future of our country is being decided by people who really don’t care if this is the end.

Diane, thank you and you are right, I am worried as well, because so many people fail to realize that their very lives depend on our democracy, our constitution, and the way Americans once thought about the world. We were always seen by other countries as a fine example of true democracy, but now they simply don’t. We have lost most of our allies.

I worry that if Congress (the Senate) abandons the Constitution and forfeits their power by sanctioning Trumps abuse and criminality that the precedent will be set. We won’t be able to undo the damage. We will have dictators – sometimes good ones, and sometimes those willing to commit horrors without any means to stop them. The end of democracy.

Diane, our Congress re: our Senate has damaged our constitution and our democracy. I feel sick at heart. But perhaps, in time, with our votes, and can change it back to were it should be for democracy. Karen 😦

Cross our fingers that Trump doesn’t cheat himself into the Whitehouse again. UGH.

Diane, I know, it is terrifying to think he will do that, however, there is a worse scenario. He has said, I believe, that if he doesn’t win…it was rigged and he will stay as President. Hard to believe by probably true.

I heard that too. Terrifying.

Yes it is. Especially now that he thinks he is God. What the GOP will regret is that he will no longer need them – for anything! When will this nightmare be over! I am praying daily. Have a somewhat peaceful Sunday! 🙂

Debby, what Diane says is so true and if the tyrant in the White House is re-elected heaven knows what will happen to our constitution and our democracy. Americans, having lived in a Democracy, have no idea what it is like to live in a country ruled by tyranny.
