This is an extraordinary short story and don’t miss out by not reading it. Liz Gauffreau is an incredibly talented writer as well as a published author in many literary venues.
Thank you so much for the reblog, Karen!

Liz, my pleasure. You are a superb writer in every sense of the word. Some stories are with a reader for just moment, than forgotten, and then there are other stories that will stay with the reader forever…Henry is one of those stories. Note: if you ever decide to write a novel or novella…I hope it would be about Henry and why his life had to end so sadly. I feel that Henry’s early life would be a great story, that included achievements and great loss that broke his heart and his will to prevail. Just a thought for future reference. 🙂 Thank you, Karen

Thank you for your kind words, Karen! Writing about Henry’s past would take some serious research, but the thought is intriguing. I’ll let it percolate for a while . . .

Jennie, so was I, and I asked Liz to please develop the story into a book about Henry’s life. She said that is would take a lot of research and it would. I loved Henry’s story. Karen:
