Trauma and Memories

September 28, 2018

So, thousands upon thousands of young women have experienced this trauma, including me, and few believe or support young women- even a few women who have been brainwashed don’t support other women. Why is this so? Where are the fathers? Where are the ministers? Why are women not believed? I know why, because thousands upon thousands of young men, and older men are not quite human yet, and their savagery is encouraged by fathers and ministers, like the evangelicals (I know them quite well). The truth is, it would mean relinquishing their perceived power given to them by our society of thousands upon thousands of not quite human men because they know, that no harm will come to them, just like now. No harm will come to Kavanaugh, because the Senators, as substitute fathers, have will it to be so. I have empathy for them, because one day they will all face their fates, the world is funny that way.

By Hook Or By Book

Today, much of the United States have been glued to their tv screens, computers, tablets, and smartphones, watching the sickening spectacle of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Judge Brett Kavanaugh as they gave emotional testimonies before the Judiciary Committee. After watching Dr. Ford being questioned over 3 hours, I have to say that she was sympathetic and credible. There’s one thing that I wanted to address that the Republicans and Rachel Mitchell, the Republican sex crimes prosecutor who was hired to question both Dr. Ford and Judge Kavanaugh seem to be obsessed with. How is that Dr. Ford can remember in such detail the actual assault, but not other things like the exact date and time of the party, how she got there, and whose house it was. I’m going to share something that I’ve only shared with my husband, that may not provide a full explanation, but maybe put…

  1. Thank you for reblogging this Karen. What has horrified me so much is how glaringly apparent it is that things have not really changed all that much in the 27 years since Professor Anita Hill courageously stepped forward.

    1. Kim, you are so right. For many men, especially older men, it hasn’t seemed to have changed their minds. It would require introspection and past guilty actions remorse. Many men, unfamiliar with meaningful dialogue or the ability to listen, will never change their minds or their behavior. It does appear that younger males, high school and first year in college, have changed, thanks to social media and the ability to communicate with others – male and female, in a meaningful way. Again, Kim, thank you for your bravery and honesty, as always.

      2. Kim, thank you, I was lucky, because this friend of the family said he was going to kill me too. He had me against a huge boulder on top of a hill where we went to pick blueberries. He had me pinned to the huge boulder, he had one of his hands holding both if my hands above my head, while trying to take my clothes off. I managed to knock of his glasses somehow and kicked too. Then I ran as fast as I could down the large hill, almost a mountain and he was throwing rocks at me and hit me several times in the head and shoulder as he was running after me. I was bleed profusely too. I got to my house, screaming, and then he ran away and the navy guards picked him up and locked him up. But, still he was pronounced mentally unstable (a lie) and kept for six months in the hospital navy unit. It is something you never forget and it changes you forever. My house is like a fortress and has always been like than since then.

  2. Anyone that doesn’t understand holes in memory has never suffered an extreme trauma. Large chunks of my life are missing though some events are crystal clear. It’s time the Supreme Court had a very different look to it along with most of our political system. There is no balance there.

Dr. Christine Blasey Ford is an American hero and a patriot, who sacrificed her own self and safety for the good of the Republic. She will go down in history as such.

    1. Lea, Yes, just like you and Cindy have said, “Dr. Christine Blasey Ford is a hero and has given more than any of those men in the room can begin to comprehend.”
I feel fortunate that WordPress has so many intelligent, caring women who understand what true sexual trauma is exactly experienced. And, is always the truth of the matter. Thank you for being brave too.

      2. Lea, you must be a psychologist or counselor or both. That is wonderful and thank you for your work with sexual assault victims. Any woman who has been sexually assaulted knows it does change their life, emotionally, for a very long time, if not forever. Thank you! Karen 🙂

    1. Yes, it is important to let everyone in on this secret that women hide from everyone. And, we know why…they are not to be believed and/or shamed or both, because, of course…it is always the woman’s fault. It was the way she was dressed, where she was at the time, did she bring it on herself? All of those things, many men and some women say to excuse sexual assault. From day one, women have been accused of biting into an apple, causing herds of cows to die, or killing children – ask any Witch…we suffer a great deal at the hands of the guilty. Now women are speaking up, and many men in power just want to put us back in the jack-in-the-box. Not going to happen! Thank you, Dr. French for your wonderful comment! Karen 🙂

  6. Men don’t look in mirrors. The world is their mirror. It is therefore crucial that the world has its mind right when looking upon royalty.
