You must be a very proud mom with two wonderful and brave grown up children. I am a military brat, as they say. I was also married to an officer in The Air Force. So, I too, will never forget what memorial means. Thank you so much for commenting about this very important day for our veterans and their families.
I was fortunate to get my dad back after two tours in Vietnam and one in Korea. I think of those who did not get to come home to their families — every Memorial Day…and every day in between…Thank you for reminding us of that… If only we would remember at the voting booth more often!
I am so glad your dad came back and yes, I wish we would remember what war means and the senseless loss of wonderful men and women when we are at the voting booth! Karen
Happy memorial Day

With two military kids, I guess I’ll never get confused over the meaning of this day.
