The world awakes each day,
Wet with tears of morning,
And in the silent dawn,
Upon the earth’s sweet tears,
The world begins a new,
For with the promised sun,
The earth renews its hope,
In life itself,
And dries its tears,
In the morning air,
To begin again,
For what have we,
On this earth so rare,
Is to forgive,
And be forgiven.

Pat, thank you so very much. It is one of my favorite poems that I wrote several years ago. Sometimes, when the world seems on the brink of something awful, I read that poem. It is also for forgiveness of self, family, friends, and others. It is also for what we do to damage our beautiful god-given planet earth. Karen π
