WE COULD SAY

Sad girl with a silver heart on a chain

WE COULD SAY

We could say we just met and

We only danced while the band played.

We could say I only sang

While you penned sweet sonnets in the sand.

We could say we stood barefoot in the night by a warm summer sea.

We could say there are moments inexplicably captured in a place in a time.

We could say, oh yes, we could say, all this is true.

What was it that you said? What sound did you make?

That resonated so vibrantly and set me so free.

Yet, captured me so completely.

We could say, without words to say,

We are two, who meet by chance, now captured, in a place, in a time.

THE DRUID SWAN

The Druid Swan, EALA is Soul, Love, Beauty and Passion of the Heart. EALA brings to us the qualities of the greatest love, grace and beauty. The Swan comes with the Druid festival time of Samhuinn and is the threshold into our deepest heart and soul. The Swan can carry us into the Otherworld where long-lost loved ones can be found. We need never say goodbye forever.  If one is preparing to write a song or love poem think of the grace and beauty of a Swan.

I Ask of Thee

White Swans of the Wilderness,

Ye have flown over many lands,

Pray tell me,

Have ye seen aught of my love,

Where no one is lost, yet can be found,

And all that is beautiful lives forever.

THE DRUID RAVEN

Raven 27837_1327294800This week is devoted to things beyond our understanding and knowledge regarding Celtic beliefs. The Celtic societies of old were and are a diverse set of beliefs concerned with the welfare of souls, the earth and beyond. The Druids and their Bards, scholars of their diverse beliefs, kept their stories for later generations. One set of beliefs, very much like the indigenous Peoples of North America, the American Indians, believed in animism. Animism is the belief that all things contain an energy of life with powers to help or hinder human beings and the earth.

The Druid Raven, know as Bran, offers initiation, protection and the gift of prophecy. What is meant by initiation in practice may be as formal as actually undergoing an initiation ceremony, or as informal as, for example, being initiated into the mysteries of a new post or profession. It marks the death of one thing, which gives way to the birth of another. The power of the Raven is believed to bring you the very deepest form of healing that is achieved through a process known as the “resolution of the opposites”, giving you the possibility of resolving conflicts that have long lain buried in your subconscious or perhaps in your past. When you know yourself well, you are protected by this knowledge and this is a form of prophecy, to know yourself in all your forms, all your ways of being, now and in the future as a soul in constant transition.  ****From the Druid Oracle working with the sacred animals of the Druid Tradition

THE WOLF, THE DRUID FAOL

Fantasy wolf with girl tumblr_mjhakiLh1g1s5dhuno1_500The Wolf, the Druid Faol, the shadow in your mind, brings a strong sense of faithfulness, inner strength and intuition. Yet, the wolf brings learning too. Sometimes you need to cross barriers, to take risks, to go beyond the limited compass of normal behavior in order to learn and grown, although crossing these boundaries may seem unattractive, even painful. You need not fear the inner power and strength you feel when you spend time alone. Come to know your deepest self and even in the darkest places you will find courage and spiritual companionship. ….so it is written, The Druid Oracle, so mote it be.

The Owl, Cailleach-Oidhache will come to you when day turns into night. It is the time of Owl-light, the shimmering time.

The Owl teaches us the wisdom of turning a disadvantage into an advantage and this you will need as you wander through earth life.

Twilight is owl-light, in the woods, to sense the other-worldly time and the inner soul of Nature.  The Owl is wisdom, change and

detachment, the objectivity of prophecy.

Cailleach-Oidheche

I am coeval with the ancient oak,

Whose roots spread wide in yonder moss,

Many a race has passed before me,

And still I am the lonely Owl of Srona

In Celebration of the Week of Beltane: The Witch of His Dreams

In Celebration of The Week of Beltane, the second principal Celtic festival (the other being Samhain). Celebrated approximately halfway between Vernal (spring) equinox and the midsummer (Summer Solstice).Beltane traditionally marked the arrival of summer in ancient times as well as love, growth, and romance.

Beautiful Witch 4She comes to him at midnight,

The Witch of his dreams,

Her eyes, a forest green,

Her hair, dark and long,

Her voice, a sweet magic,

He could not help but watch her,

Dance among the daisies,

Beneath a waxing moon,

She whirls and cast her spells,

A haunting chant she sings,

And soars into his soul,

On gossamer wings,

She whispers things he wants to hear,

Of secret longings in his ear,

She enchants him with delights,

And leaves him breathless with her kisses,

Craving her embraces,

She tells him of her love,

And casts her spell upon him,

To love him, evermore,

His heart she steals, forever,

The Witch of His Dreams
